Welcome to Forest Phytophthoras of the World

Plant pathogens in the genus Phytophthora threaten the biodiversity and sustainability of forest ecosystems worldwide. The aim of the website is to provide science-based information to aid in the understanding and management of the world’s forest Phytophthora species. Fourteen of the most damaging species of forest Phytophthoras are profiled as of December 2014. Click on any Phytophthora species (see left sidebar) to reveal information about the pathogen and the forest disease(s) it causes, access educational and disease management materials, and view scientific  references.
